Where do I start? Some people just get you—or you get them? Not sure if it was one or the other—or maybe both in this session, but it lead to SO MUCH FUN! The couple were planning their destination wedding but really wanted to do their engagement photos here in New England so when they reached out to me asking for an adventurous, hiking themed, session I was psyched!
I am a huge lover of hiking—and all things outdoors. I have, for some time now, been wanting to do a session in the Middlesex Fells since it is somewhere that my little family frequents, we head there most weekends, even in the snowy winter tundra. When I heard the vision of the soon-to-be-bride my brain-wheels immediately started turning. They wanted a mountaintop feel, which is tough without driving pretty far north, but I was confident that we would be able to achieve that same look in this location.
So, off I went on (several) location scouting missions. I 100% used this as an excuse to take part of my workdays to go running in the Fells, camera in stow, looking for the best routes that were closest to parking and would allow ample time to get in and out within an hour of sunset!
Needless to say, I had fun with it. Let me be honest. I love my job. It's just so serendipitous to find people who make the experience fun. Oh, and an insta-famous dog (@bowser.the.schnauzer) photobombed the end of our session. If that isn't karma, I don't know what is.
Speaking of couples sessions and how much I love them, I'm looking to take on more couples in 2020. Specifically, elopements and engagement sessions. Know someone getting eloped in Boston (or New England in general), send them my way! I'm planning a giveaway during the holidays that they might not want to miss (hint, hint — it's a free elopement photograph package) so make sure you follow along in Instagram (@aliceandcophoto).
